Georgetown Coaching has added five new coaches for its Georgetown Men's basketball team

Patrick Aloysius Ewing of Georgetown is the Georgetown basketball team's coach. Ewing is a Jamaican American ex-pro. He is one the best college basketball coaches in America. Ewing has been instrumental in helping the men's basketball team reach the NCAA Tournament every year for the past two years. His Georgetown history is rich and his players are praised for their leadership skills.

Patrick Aloysius Ewing

Patrick Aloysius Ewing, an American-Jamaican coach and ex-professional basketball player, is now the head coach of Georgetown University's Men's Basketball team. He has a strong basketball background and is a motivator.

Ewing's time as Georgetown's coach is coming to an end. His record is 68-81 in five seasons. Most notable, the Hoyas won a Big East title and were twice in the NCAA tournament. His teams have been successful, but they have not found the right replacement.

Alex Kolt

Alex Kolt has joined the Georgetown football coaching staff since 2011. From 2013 to 2016, he served as the defensive coach and also coached tight end. His current position is assistant coach of the offensive. Kolt's offense line unit has seen steady improvement over the past few years. The Hoyas placed third in Patriot League 2017 and were second in the conference for 2018. They also allowed the fewest sacks in the league this past season.

Kolt led the Old Dominion Athletic Conference previously to conference titles, in 2007 and 2008. Kolt finished the season No. 14. He was also a three time Academic All-ODAC Selection. Kolt is a native Arlington resident who graduated with a BA. Kolt is a native of Arlington, Virginia. In 2011, he graduated with a B.A. He currently lives in Alexandria with his wife, Nicole.

Ryan Devlin

Ryan Devlin has been selected as the assistant coach of George Washington University (GW), in the 2020-21 academic season. He has been coaching for fifteen years, and has coached five NBA basketball players. He was an assistant at Montrose Christian School in 2008-09 and Bowling Brook Preparatory School in 2005-07. He was born in Waynesboro (PA) and played college baseball at the University of Pittsburgh.


Georgetown's basketball team is facing a tough recruiting and coaching situation. Although the University chose to keep Patrick Ewing in the team for another season, it has not been capable of making the necessary changes to improve the program. Every day that passes is another day when it could have been used for recruiting for the next season.

Brenden Straughn

Brenden Straughn was born in Maryland and joined the Loyola University Maryland coaching staff as a men's basketball coach in June 2018. He played collegiately at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and has coached at the high school and AAU level for the last five years. He previously served as an assistant coach for Team Takeover, an AAU team in the Washington, D.C. area.

A four-year starter at Hood, Straughn served as team captain during his last three seasons. He finished his college career among the top-10 in scoring assists, steals and scoring. He averaged 8.7 point, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals per match. Straughn obtained a bachelor's in business administration. He was also active in the Black Student Union/Athletic Peer Mentor Group. Straughn started his career in data processing and accounting after graduating GW.

Jaren Jackson

Jaren Jackson, the founder of Georgetown Coaching has a long resume. He was valedictorian at his high-school class. He then went on college to play basketball at Georgetown University, where Alonzo Morning, future NBA superstar, was his teammate. John Thompson was also his Hall of Fame coach. After graduating from Georgetown, he had a 12-year NBA playing career. He played for nine different teams, won a WBL title, and enjoyed an amazing basketball career. He was also a member of the David Robinson-Tim Duncan support cast for the San Antonio Spurs.

Jackson was a reserve for his first two seasons at Georgetown. Jackson averaged around 11 minutes per game, which helped the Hoyas finish at 29-5. His 3.3-point average was supported by strong performances against Providence & Pitt.
